Exterior Drawing

Working on the exterior drawing of my porch and a swing, but trying to get an angle that I can extend it to the street to show depth. And here's some Ingres to show the loose to tight method of drawing. He works very lightly on the clothing and makes the faces pop. I wonder how long this sketch took to draw. If i build a time machine i will ask.....

Conte is the devil. I don't care what you say Jason, holding it that way does NOT feel natural, but I tried none the less. So my drawings all day yesterday looked like shit, because once again conte is the devil. I already can't draw, the last thing I need is something to make it harder. But I'm trying to upload some picture of my work from my phone and it's not letting me. I will try again later for everyone to laugh at.....

The Loop and Paper Assignment for homework seems to be kicking my ass. I don't know why, but for the last 4 hours I've been tryin to make this paper strip look like it's coming away from the wall, and yet it still continues to look like it's stuck straight against it. I'm giving this another attempt and seeing how it works, but someone give me a call if they think they can help.

Loose to Tight And Sketchbook Reviews

Thus far....I suck at loose to tight drawing. I'm starting to miss the ruler. But maybe with practice.... but anyways... the sketchbook critique didn't go as badly as I thought it might, other than the fact that I apparently have no confidence. Still not sure what that has to do with my sketchbook, but ok. But it is true that it needs a lot of work. I think I'm one of those people that is def intimidated by it. I'm never quite sure what to put, but seeing everyone else's helped.
